Blog Journal 10

 My personal learning network from has transitioned from a school oriented PLN to that of one that can be applied to situations outside of school. I believe this can be attributed to me starting my professional career also at Florida State. Many principals from education can be used in everyday life. It has been consistent in my PLNs that i do not believe anyone should hesitate to ask for help, in education or in professional life. I plan on using data collection tools such as surveys heavily during my teaching experience. I thrive when I am receiving feedback. I also feel like educators can best serve all students when they know how students and their parents view the teachers educational techniques. I believe surveys are also a great way for teachers to communicate with students without fear of students not sharing their true feelings.  I would like to be able to use excel to effectively keep track of student progress/ success. I will plan to watch YouTube instruction videos...

The Covid pandemic hit during spring break of my freshman year in high school, so I have had the opportunity to use multiple distance learning technologies. The first thing my district used was Microsoft teams and zoom. Not many of my teachers were very familiar with either of these sites being that they had no preparation time. Microsoft teams was not my favorite resource, but it got the job done effectively enough for the school district. As I have begun my college career, many of my classes have been online, and the main resource I have used is canvas. I find canvas to be really effective because of the calendar feature as well as the customizability it offers. Open education resources or OERs are online tools that improve learning and teaching experiences in the classroom, or even outside of it.
