In this class, I hope to learn different techniques of explaining information to people through technology. Technology is a very crucial part of our education system, and it is constantly changing/evolving. I wat to learn how to make presentations for enjoyable for my future students. I would like to also find a good balance of keeping them entertained in the information and the students actually absorbing the information. It does not matter how interesting or entertaining an educational presentation is if the students are not able to retain the information.

In my personal experiences, the most commonly used educational technology would be PowerPoint presentations. I have found that at times, PowerPoint presentations can be extremely boring and make it difficult to learn the information. One thing that helped me in schools is when the presentation didn't have the same base slide or design for every slide. PowerPoints are heavily dependent on students staying focused and actively listening, and I feel that when the screen is staying the same color, and text is staying in the same spot, it is more difficult to stay focused as a student.

Something I like to learn about is sports in general, but more specifically I like learning about football. I want to be a football coach one day, and an important part of coaching is adaptability. I like scrolling on TikTok or Instagram and seeing videos of different drills or plays. I also enjoy listening to coaches' interviews both during the week, and after games. Fortunately, football is something that is regularly on TV, so 4/5 nights per week during the season, I get to watch how other coaches gameplan for certain teams, or what plays/concepts are best for beating specific defensive coverages.

  1. I like how you discussed wanting to make learning interesting for your students. This is also one of my main goals for this class. Our PLN's are also kind of similar, because they are both related to sports and learning more about them. Nice first post!
